Math CFU & Intervention Plan

Use this plan to map your classroom culture, lesson objective, checks for understanding, re-teaching and intervention strategies, and a plan for correcting common misconceptions in your math classroom.

For a sample completed document, you may return to your course module and view a completed sample.

Classroom Culture

Complete the following based on the Classroom Culture Evaluation Tool and the strategies learned in Section 1 of this course.

From Section 1: describe what each successful characteristic is, why you believe you have had success implementing it, and what you want to implement more of.

List two characteristics you never implement but want to implement, and describe how you will implement them.

Lesson Objective

Select a specific objective you plan to teach in the future, and use this objective as you build the rest of your CFU & Intervention Plan.

Checking for Understanding Strategies

List three strategies you plan to use to check for understanding for an upcoming objective and why you think they will be beneficial. Use the Check For Understanding Strategy Guide and the work you did in Section 2 of this course.

Re-Teaching & Intervention Strategies

Most misconceptions need to be addressed immediately. However, some of your data may indicate a need to re-teach. Take the lesson you described in the Intervention Plan Template and choose a different method this time. Complete the table below for the new method (e.g., Small Group, Online Practice, or Peer Tutoring).

Correcting Misconceptions

Indicate your plan for correcting common misconceptions you have noticed in your current math lessons, prior lessons, or anticipate seeing in your next lesson. You can refer to the Correcting Misconceptions Strategy Guide for ideas or choose a math misconception of your own.

Misconceptions to Correct

Your answers will be turned into a PDF you can download. You'll then need to upload that PDF to your course.
