Classroom Implementation Plan

Now that you have learned more about the course topics, it is time for you to build a plan for implementation in your classroom. Complete this two-page template. On the first page, you will describe how you plan to implement your course ideas. On the second page, you will prepare five action steps you must complete to successfully implement your ideas. If you are not currently teaching, you can apply these prompts to a future classroom or a hypothetical one instead. You must complete both pages of this plan to receive full credit, and the content must be in your own words.

Part 1. Describe how you will implement the course concepts in your particular classroom

Your response should include your plan for implementing the course ideas, strategies you might use to support your students, resources you will develop or utilize in a future lesson, and your expected outcome for implementation. Your response should be at least 150 words and in paragraph form, addressing each of the four points above.

Your implementation plan

Example: To implement these course ideas, I will need clear expectations for my students, so they understand my classroom rules. I plan to focus on three main classroom rules to ensure I can implement these routines with fidelity. Those rules will be: always to be prepared for learning, respect classmates and me, and give your best effort. I will break down these ideas further by explaining, for example, that being prepared for learning means being silent when speaking and following directions for an activity. I will model these behaviors at the beginning of the year, so students understand my expectations. I am not sure yet what my aligned conclusions will be, because I would like to work with my team to design consequences that we can all agree upon. If my team and I get on the same page, we can collectively support student behaviors better, because our students will know we all have the same expectations. I will also create my classroom routine and expectation tracker and provide it to my team, and then work on monitoring student behavior so that I can immediately offer positive feedback to each student when needed. I believe that if I successfully implement these ideas, I can begin the year with strong expectations that will translate to a more positive classroom culture and improved student behaviors compared with previous years.

Part 2. Plan your action items for implementation

Plan for successful implementation by mapping out key actions you must take to fully and effectively implement your ideas. Consider what prep work must occur before implementation, how and when you will implement your ideas, and what methods for assessing progress you should consider. Be detailed in your required resources, what planning must occur to complete the action item, and how the action fits into your implementation plan. Choose at least 5 actions that you can record and plan for.

Classroom routines tracker. Planning required: I will need to finalize my management plan with my teaching team first, then use that to help me build my classroom routines that will help support it. Description of Action: I will use my classroom routines tracker to identify what areas students are still struggling with and to re-teach as necessary. This will help me align my classroom routines with the team-wide management plan and improve student behaviors. Example 2 Action: Build a class feedback form Date(s) of Implementation: Every Friday, beginning the second week of school Resources Required: Class feedback form, aligned consequences chart Planning required: I will create a class feedback form and then implement it each Friday for the fall semester. Description of Action: The feedback form will help me to ensure I am improving student behaviors by giving them explicit feedback on behaviors I have seen throughout the week and praising great work.
